Claims for children
Claims for children progress in the same way as for adults. There are only two practical differences. These are:-
- An adult must agree to act for the child. Usually this will be a parent or close relative. This person is called a “Litigation Friend.”
- Damages awards for children are normally approved by the Court. Please don’t worry about this as it is a straightforward procedure and in most cases you personally do not need to attend Court.
